Two Banksy rats welcome you to this cafe in the edgy and up-and-coming Praga neighborhood of Warsaw. This is way off the tourist track, in one of the few areas that was not destroyed by the Nazis in WWII.

Let Loose the Butterflies
A girl lets loose a skirt full of butterflies. The image is on the front of a cafe that features other street art images that are either by Banksy or a Banksy copy. She may be as well. The Praga neighborhood is edgy and gritty, but also becoming a trendy artists’ area. So the image of delicate beautiful things emerging from a young person/perspective is quite fitting.
It’s Raining Rainbows
Little girl under an umbrella, where a rainbow stream of rain is coming down on her, and nothing beyond it. This is either a Banksy or a copy of a Banksy in the edgy Praga neighborhood of Warsaw. It was one of the few areas not destroyed by the Nazis, but retains an edgy poor/working class tenement feel, which is also becoming an artists’ district.
Deer Bird
A large bird, with deer antlers in downtown Quito.
Shake
A dog shakes off water (or paint). But it could also be seen as representing the way Warsaw is shaking off the weight of its past – occupation, annihilation, extermination – and re-emerging as a dynamic city, and one that is cleaner and greener than before.
Rooted in Nature
A boy with roots as feet leads an older person. This is located on a stairway to an area below Dupont Circle in Washington DC, which has been launched for alternative uses (unsuccessfully) as an art space, place for happenings, and fast food eateries.
Watermelon Man
This piece has survived numerous years on a wall near one of the University of Paris campuses.
Beak-cause of you
This long-beaked stylized bird graces a temporary wall that is part of a construction project in the middle of Copenhagen’s historic district on Kongen Nytorv Square.
Just beaking around the corner
This image is on a temporary construction wall, and in spite of its ephemeral nature brings a touch of color and fun to the space.
House Lion
A lion face that takes up the whole side of a small structure in Copenhagen’s hippie Christiania neighborhood.
